ROME II UNIT CARDS MOD (with Normal's Unit Icons) для Total War: ROME II - Emperor Edition
INCOMPLETE - USE THIS MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK, BUT DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD IF YOU OWN WOS DLC (I DO NOT OWN THIS DLC AND ITS UNIT CARDS ARE NOT INCLUDED. APPARENTLY, IT CAUSES SERIOUS PROBLEMS WHICH ARE NOT SOLVED AFTER REMOVAL !!!
Updated 02/12/2014 for patch 16
(PLEASE GIVE CREDIT TO NORMAL AND THE OTHER MODDING ARTISTS MENTIONED BELOW IF YOU ADD THIS MOD OR PART OF IT AS A SUBMOD - 1 feb 2015)
I really like the redesigned unit cards started by Normal, which project can be found in the following address on the TWC:

Let me be clear in this: ALL credits concerning the awesome unit icons go to him and some others (like 1.Spear and Mavrik347, Antonis1984.- maybe others?) working on this. The mod is included here as I have changed his unit icons & masks by adding the banners to them (currently v.1.7.). Musculus Maximus' Mod added the rest of the icons I used. The address of his mod can be found here:

The only thing I regretted about these icons is the lack of difference between factions using the same cards. More importantly for myself, it is not immediately obvious which of the units are mercenaries and which are regular warriors/soldiers. I think this important because salaries are different and often stats as well. Anyway, that is the main reason of my contribution.
Changes this mod brings:
- Normal's unit cards now have banners with the unit's faction colors (masks), which makes them more faction specific. - Mercenary troops have a different flag colour which makes them easy to identify.
- All unit cards have been edited, some are replaced
- Unit category symbols in the banners had an overhaul, also in the battle flags to match the mod.
- Most Celtic unit icons are more greenish.
NOTE: I believe this mod can be used with any other mod that does not interfere with unit cards graphics or banner graphics. If you use it with other unit icon mods and you want to see the results, change the title of the mod to a letter from the beginning of the alphabet.
A few minor issues with this patch:
- Two uses of the same card with different unit category symbols, where I had to choose a banner design... (These are extremely rare):
> Seleucid Indian war elephants have medium unit category symbol, whereas mercenary Indian war elephants for Epirus are heavy (both have armor 30, just a difference in base morale 40/60)
> Scorpions for Carthage & Rome have heavy unit category symbol, but are light for most other factions (because of armor difference 40/10).
(This can probably be overcome by DB tweaking, but I have not added files for this. The idea is also to keep this mod as compatible as possible, so I prefer making as few changes in db files as possible for it. After all, it's only for two units that I know of)
There may be other inconsistencies.
Please give feedback & point out any inconsistencies - cheerS
Update: Completely updated all unit cards according to a new design. I have not included Drelas' units (yet) which are included in MM's unit cards mod. I used MM's mod in combination with Normal's. Both of them did a hell of a great job there! Also others have helped them as I noted above.
If you use this mod and like it, don't forget to give some form of credit to Musculus Maximus & Normal's Mod, because they form the core of this unit overhaul. You can subscribe, rate, make favourite, comment, follow, etc. as you please in their mods. Although it took a lot of work as well, apart from a few ui redesigns I merely edited their unit icons to incorporate them in this mod. But the weeks I spent don't way up to their time. Without the immense work they have put into the icon cards this mod would not exist...
