AVE: Legio Imperialis OPTIMUM для Total War: ROME II - Emperor Edition
A REAL ROMAN LEGION
THIS MOD IS PATCH-17 COMPATIBLE ONLY
To switch to 'Patch-17': Go to your Steam page and then select LIBRARY. Right click on your game 'ROME II' on the left. Go to properties. Select BETAS in the pop-up screen. In here you can select 'patch_17'.
Do you want to command a real roman legion with 60 units, more than 9000 men strong?
Here is how you can do just that !
IT IS ALL WORTH THE EFFORT !!! A new battle experience, never seen before !
This mod is compatible with my other mod 'AVE_Roman_Units_Optimum' and gives you the opportunity to upgrade your legionaries to imperial troops. You can play this mod without, but much new buildings, other units, general units and features are contained in that mod.
Use the mod 'AVE_Legio_Imperialis_150' mod when you want to play with another faction than Rome. Simply tick the OPTIMUM version off and activate the 150 version. The number in EditESF (see below) must be 41 instead of 60. The numbers of men per unit are then 240 for infantry.
First you need to download the mod 'AVE: Legio Imperialis DATA' (mod will not work without) an the mod 'AVE_Gigas', which makes it possible to transport large units over sea (not needed, but without it you will have disembarkation problems
Secondly you need to download Edit SF (free download)
Start a new campaign and open it in EditSF, or open one of your savegames.
You can find your savegames in User--> AppData--> Roaming--> TheCreativeAssembly--> Rome2--> savegames.
It could be that the AppData folder is not visible. You only have to let your PC search for it and then it should show up.
In EditSF: open directory CAMPAIGN_SAVE_GAME --> COMPRESSED_DATA --> CAMPAIGN_ENV --> CAMPAIGN_MODEL
click on CAMPAIGN_MODEL and then you see a table in the right window.
In this window you will see in line 9 and 10 the number '20'. Line 9 represents the number of units in your army and line 10 represents the number of units in your navy.
(You can also go to my manual for instructions on how to change the numbers for army and navy.)
Change the number for army (line 9) to 60
You can hange the number of units in your navy (line 10) if you want to have more ships.
Save the file (this can take a while)
Launch Rome II and load your saved game. Now you can experience the true power of a real roman legion.
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR UNIT SIZE IS SET ON 'ULTRA' (options-->graphics-->advanced options)
To prevent eventually problems with disembarkment (wich occurs when a unit is split onto two transports), I can suggest you to download my mod 'AVE_GIGAS', in wich the units are put into a vessel 'that carries them all' (except barbarians, for realistic reasons, I am always willing to discuss about that and willing to change my idea about it)
MANUAL: http://ave-roman-units.webnode.be/ for further explanation
Also read instructions about compatibility (If some other mods are not compatible, then we will make them compatible ! Contact me when you have questions)
Not a fan of that many soldiers or do you want to go to the battlefield with 41 units, than you can download another version of this mod: AVE_roman_units_100_125; _125; _150; _125_20_units or _150_20_units
This version makes Rome have units x1 (vanilla unit size) and other factions x1.5, because AI can only recruit 41 units. Both army structures now contain 9000 men or more !
You can upgrade your legionaries even further with the mod 'AVE_Legio_Imperialis_optimum'
Wat this mod offers you:
A whole lot of new units for Rome
New buildings
A whole new garrison
Most units are upgradable now: your hastati eventualy become armoured legionaries, equites become equites legionis and then you can upgrade them to legionary cavalry
Lots of new features
New units:
-Cohors Lanceam
-Cohors Vetust
-Cohors Aquila
-Praetoriani Praesidii
-Praetoriani Urbicus
-Auxilia Superior
-Arquitis
-Auxilia Sagittarii
-Auxilia Sagitarii Superior
-Equites Arcubus Ligneis
-Equites Legionis
-Equites Praetoriani
-Equites Praetoriani Praesidii
-Legatus Legionis (general unit)
-Imperator (general unit)
New garrison units:
-Accensi
-Limitanei
-Limitanei Superior
-Auxilia Sagittarii
-Temple Guards
-Gladiator Spears
-Gladiators
-Damnati
If the game should crash, do not panick ! That means that somewhere on the campaignmap there is a slave uprising going on (one turn only). Go to Edit SF, load your saved game or autosave and change the number of your army into 41. You can leave it this way until you decide to recruit more units, then you change it again. I've done everything I could to have those slave uprisings reduced to an absolute minimum. In most campaigns they won't even happen. Zero crashes due to slave uprisings in last 7 campaigns since update [16/09/2015].
IMPORTANT NOTE: all the unist I' ve created are balanced regarding upkeep costs. This means that all my mods are not compatible with mods that change upkeep costs (let's get real, you cannot keep up an army with a little change, the money I mean).
PLEASE DOWNLOAD 'AVE_GIGAS' SO THERE WILL NO LONGER BE A DISEMBARKMENT PROBLEM
HAVE FUN COMMANDERS !
