NEW CARGO UPDATE!!
All frighters and freightliners have had there cargo space increased. Freighters now have 650 cargo and freightliners have a whopping 5000 cargo space! May increase freighters more, but this is a big increase over what most of them had before.
Mining Refined is a mod to make mining more relaxing and enjoyable. Instead of flying around from asteroid to asteroid destroying them, you'll be able to farm a single asteroid until it's supply is exhausted. The amount of supply in an asteroid is random, and some may explode immediately still. Right now Borehole Torpedoes still work as they always have.
Update 1: The mining Perk now increases the chance for an asteroid to drop loot. Using a freighter or a freightliner will also increase the chance to drop loot.
Hotfix U1: Removed a debug line that would have cluttered the log.
Update 2: Using Mining Beams will further increase the drop rate of asteroids. This is cumulative with other sources of increased drop rates.
Hotfix U2: Fixed Fjord Asteroid field not dropping loot. Field in Nexus Territory.
This update contains some fragments of the Junkyard project, this shouldn't effect anything, but it may.
Future Plans: Attempt to make mining beams further increase drop rate and modify the functionality of Borehole Torpedoes. If possible, add a new Mining Class of starship for further upgraded chance to drop loot.
Technical Details: For those interested, the drop chance for asteroids is baseline 150 in 10000 for small asteroids, 200 in 10000 for medium and 250 in 10000 for large everytime the asteroid reaches 25% health. This may seem low, but asteroid health is exceptionally low if you use mining beams so you'll get several chances for a drop every second. At 25% health, it is possible for the asteroid to not regenerate it's health, about 50 in 10000 for small, 35 in 10000 for medium and 20 in 10000 for large.
Using the mining perk will increase the drop chance by 100 for all asteroids, and using a freigher or freightliner will give another 100 increase. The increase from miner perk and ship class in cumulative for a 200 total increase.
Doing this simulates the asteroid having an exhaustable supply of minerals that once reached, will cause the asteroid to collapse.
